Basic Info

The Fortune function in Trickster Online is a way to gain stat boosts for your character that last for 3 hours (though this time period can be increased by using Star Tears). After 3 hours (unless you've used a Star Tear, in which case it would be longer), the fortune will end and the stats will no longer be applied. All stats in Trickster can be increased through fortune, as long as you or Star Gazer Stella provide the right cards. For this reason, fortunes are very versatile, such as simply increasing certain stats, like AP, or for Drop Rates when you're hunting down items, or even to get an EXP Boost for your grinding!

Note: You can buy Star Tears from MyShop, or you can get Star Tears EVs by doing Shadow Dailies. You can earn up to 12 Star Tears EVs a day through this method.

There are no limits on how many fortunes you can get per day, however each time you get a fortune during the same day, the price will double. The first fortune will cost you 1000 galder, the second will cost 2000 galder, the third will cost 4000 galder, and so on. Once the day is over, the price will reset back to 1000 galder.

You are also free to get another reading before the 3 hours is up if you do not like the results of your current reading, but by entering the reading again you will LOSE your current stat boosts from the previous fortune. You do not get to choose the fortune that you think is better, you are stuck with what you get (unless you get another reading).

Before Getting Your Fortune

Star Gazer Tent in Mega

In order to use this mechanic, you must complete a short quest for Star Gazer Stella, called The Star Gazer. You can get the quest by finding her in Desert Beach Field 2. She is standing near the river by the second bridge from the bottom.

Please note: Unlike most NPC quests you receive, you will have to be careful about what you say to Stella, with the correct option varying between the choices. If you choose the wrong answer, the conversation will end, and you will not be able to get/turn in the quest. The correct answers are the one's where you aren't insulting/being hostile to her.

After getting through her dialogue, Stella will request that you speak to Don Giuvanni, who is also in Desert Beach Field 2. He is at the top right of the map, on the left side of the river. Don Giuvanni will request 1 Soap, but as you must do this quest 3 times, he really needs 3.

After turning in the soap, speak to Stella again.

If you do not complete Stella's quest, she will not read you your fortune at any location.

Once you have completed this quest, you will be able to visit Stella at any of her tent locations (pictured) in order to get your fortune read. (This does not include times where you see Stella outside of her tent, such as for the Shadow Star quests; she must be in her tent to give you a reading).

Example Cards

When you get into Stella's tent, there will be 10 random cards supplied by Stella. These will change with each reading. You cannot back out after you see the cards; if you want different cards you will have to get your fortune done again and pay the price.

Each card denotes what it increases, such as AP, DA, MA, etc, and the number represents the strength of the card. You can choose to swap out some of Stella's cards with your own cards that you have received from Star Card Packs by selecting the card you wish to replace (top), and the card you want to put in (bottom), but there is a limit on how many you can swap per reading which depends on the day. The position of the cards you swap is the position they will appear in the reading, so if you put all of your swapped cards at the left side, they will appear at the beginning (right side) during the reading (see pointer picture).

If you swap your cards, even if the pointers do not land on your swapped card, it will be used up regardless.

Stat Boost Example

Once you are done, you can click Proceed, and then you will have to spin (click and drag) the wheel on the right side of the table in order to start the process. Three pointers will spin around, and the cards those pointers land on will determine what status effects you get. Sometimes the pointers will land on the same card, or cards of the same type and you will receive a bigger boost for that stat.

After the pointers have stopped spinning, Stella will tell you the status boosts you've earned. From here you can decide if you want to re-roll (though it will cost double of what you just paid), or keep them. If, for whatever reason you decide you don't want the fortune you have already accepted, simply find Stella in her tent and pay the fee to get another fortune.

NOTE: You can also earn certain Titles through getting your fortune read, usually when the pointers land on cards that are all the same type, such as all pointers landing on cards for AP. These are bugged on this server to not display--a bug we're looking into.

Strategy

There's not a sure-fire way to get the pointers to land on the cards that you want, but it's best to put your swapped cards together either at the front or end of the pile, rather than trying to spread them out. If there are cards in Stella's hand that match the cards you are supplying, it's best to place your cards surrounding that as well, because you will gain a boost from landing on cards of the same stats, even if they aren't as powerful as the cards you are supplying.

CoraTO Tips

On this server, for doing Shadow Dailies with Stella, you get to get an additional 2h of fortune for each daily done. With all 12 towns done, you are able to accomplish a free day's worth of fortune. If you are using Drop Rate fortune, you can grind this for a few days, stockpile the excess resources you can, and then in your "off-hours" (when the fortune runs out) you can hand in the dailies you collected, for the next fortune weekend, so you can extend it in the way you desire! I managed to keep my drop rate fortune sustained for about 5 months back-to-back using this method until I got too busy one day and forgot hahahahahaha. Such is life.

You can get the high star cards to use for this purpose either via Tap, Year of The Hare packs (event item only), or through Cora Eggs randomly.
