Basic Info
Compounding in Trickster Online is generally used for quests where an NPC asks for an item that you must compound, with the first instance of this type of quest being the Desert Potion for Officer Robert in Paradise- though there are other items you can make that aren't used for quests, such as compounding to increase shuriken damage (a weapon primarily used by foxes), or HP/MP potions. But considering the effort needed to make these items (as compounding requires certain loot, and has the chance to fail) people generally don't compound for these reasons.
How to Compound

For each item that you need to make, you will need to get the required items for the compound in the right amount. To see what these items are, you must find Compounder Paul, and select the item you wish to make on the drop-down menu. You can hover over the item to see what the name of the ingredient is.
Note: Compounder Paul offers different items based on the location he is in- for example, you can only compound the Desert Potion in Paradise. If you were to go to Cabella, he would not have Desert Potion in his list, instead hosting different items. Generally when you have to compound an item for a quest, the right Compounder Paul to go to will be in the town map of the location you got the quest from.
Once you have the items for compounding, you can drag and drop them from your inventory onto the compound screen, or you can simply click Auto and it will be done automatically. You can also select the amount of items you are attempting to make by clicking the arrows next to Number, or typing in your own amount. If you change the number of what you want to compound after putting your items in, you will need to add more before it will let you continue. When you are ready to compound, select Go.
Note: Often for part of the compounding ingredients, Compounder Paul will require things like distilled water, or empty potion bottles. These are not drops from monsters, but can instead be bought from Item Girl in the etc tab.
Compounding also has the chance of failing. This is why it is always a good idea to get more of the ingredient items than you need, because if any of the compounds fail you will have to go collect more again. Each item has a different success rate, which can also be seen underneath the items needed for the compound, next to Odds. Then, when you choose to compound the item, you will be met with another screen that tells you the success rate- this will usually be higher than the success rate seen next to Odds. This is because DA also affects the success rate for your character. The more DA you have, the higher the success rate will be. After seeing the success rate screen, you can choose to go ahead with your compound, or back out. Once you accept the compound success rate, the compounding will begin, and it's up to luck on how many succeed or fail.
Note: If you have a skill buff to increase DA, you can use it before attempting the compound, and this will also increase the success rate further.
You will also note that there is a fee to compound, depending on the item it can cost more, but generally the rates are cheap.
Tips for Compounding

As said above, compounding success rate is affected by DA. DA buffs also increase success rate, so if you have them, you should use them!
However, there is also something else you should note about compounding. The compounding probability that you receive after selecting Go can vary. When attempting to compound the same item, with the same character, and with the same amount of/no buffs, you can receive different compounding probabilities! In order to take advantage of this, all you have to do is load in your items, select Go, look at the compounding rate given, and then select No. Then attempt to compound again, repeating the process. You may have to do this multiple times, but sometimes you will receive a higher compounding probability than you were given at first! Refer to picture.
In my experience, the difference between rates can be as much as 10%! So it's always worth it to try, unless your probability rate is extremely high anyway. The only minor annoyance is when you are attempting to compound multiple copies of an item, having to select the number of items wanted, and then pushing Auto. It can be a tedious process. Also, sometimes the rates don't change at first, so you will be doing this a few times.
Note: Sometimes the probability won't change for whatever reason, so if it doesn't change after many attempts, it's probably the best you're going to get.
