Novella Adventures

Well, I’ve been inspired to write again. This time, it’s going to be an adventure novel if I ever had that van I always wanted and the adventures that would come forth with it. I’ve so far written a couple words on it, but I’m not completely satisfied with what I’ve written on it yet. Needless to say, I have a feeling I’m going to finish this one this time.

It’s going to star, admittedly, a self-insert, if she were more courageous than I with more freedom granted. Perhaps life can change its tune with time and grant me a similar passage?

All I know is I saw maybe 10 minutes of Kiki’s Delivery Service (Kiki and Jiji pictured above from an excerpt from the film found on a quick search) and got inspired by my own previous dreams, and I’ve always wanted to write, so why not? Maybe it’ll go somewhere this time.

I’ve been grabbing some tools to help me prewrite, plan, and stay focused, such as Little Writer Desktop Companion, Twine, and Nimble Writer (since Microsoft Word’s UI is a little bulky sometimes and their dark mode is a bit eh). I’ve looked into other sources, and I probably will try to develop a local LLM with a custom RAG to help develop some synergy with old fashioned lore using Project Gutenberg‘s library…Once I figure out how to do it properly. I tried to start it, but the scripts are failing due to false directories. I almost need to use Cursor or something to start just to get the scripts in order before I can use the local lol. I’m not exactly pleased at that, but hey, whatever gets my foot in the door to become self-sufficient.

If I end up getting the van, I’d like to livestream my various activities, possibly on Twitch. From exploring to doing things like writing or gaming and the like. It may end up a bit lonely in those crowded rooms, so who knows. It might be fun! What an adventure to think about. I know I’m “late to the trend”, but I was never one to do something for the trends, anyway.

Needless to say, despite only watching those 10 minutes, I’ve fallen in love with Kiki and Jiji. I probably won’t watch the rest until I’m done with my novel just to avoid the idea that I plagiarized it in any way since we both had a similar concept for how we were going to go about it, in a way. But I would like to see the whole movie one day! It’s really inspiring. Especially as someone that likes to play around with the idea of everyone having their own “magic” to be able to change the world in some way 🙂

I hope I amount to something one day with this writing!
